Manufacturing Matching Grant Program: For Massachusetts

<img class=”alignleft size-full wp-image-1289″ src=”” alt=”grants” width=”276″ height=”183″ />The Smaller Business Association of New England (SBANE) has once again been appropriated $250,000 by the Massachusetts Legislature for the expressed purpose of providing matching grants to manufacturers headquartered in Massachusetts. This one-time, competitive, matching grant program aims to assist manufacturers in hiring high-powered, private consulting expertise. These experts range from software consultants, to legal consultants, to marketing consultants, and more.

Last year, SBANE granted funds to 41 manufacturers who supported 1,660 jobs and over $100 million in employee payroll inMassachusetts and helped companies make completely necessary improvements to their business operations. Each company applied to the program using SBANE’s simple, one page application and after being vetted by a committee of eight, matched the state funds on a dollar to dollar basis.

SBANE will host an informational session about the Manufacturing Matching Grant Program on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at TD Bank in Springfield. For more information about the event, please visit our website at or call Sarah Henry, Program Manager, at 781-890-9070 ext. 227. Applications will be accepted beginning the 9th and the deadline is November 6, 2014.

The Smaller Business Association of New England, Inc. (SBANE), founded in 1938, is a private not-for-profit association of approximately 600 member companies located throughout the six-state region.

SBANE was established to provide a legislative voice for small business at the state and federal levels and to make practical information available to help business owners grow their companies.  Since that time, SBANE Member companies are no longer just small businesses.

Our membership is characterized by a high degree of participation, reflected in a large and dynamic committee structure, addressing advanced manufacturing, MA and RI government relations, technology and innovation, women in business, non-profits, and human resources.  SBANE runs an extensive list of programs each year and has active chapters in Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
